Terms of Service

1. The service

Synecto is a personal-reflection application that uses AI to help you explore your thoughts and patterns. It is provided on an "as is" basis. We may update, modify or improve the service at any time.

2. Not a medical service

Synecto is not a medical device and does not provide therapy, diagnosis or treatment. It is not a substitute for professional care. The AI companion is not a therapist, counsellor, or crisis service. If you're experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact a qualified professional or emergency services in your country — in Ireland and the EU: 112 (emergency services), Samaritans 116 123 (free, 24/7), or Text About It — text HELLO to 50808.

AI Transparency

Synecto uses artificial intelligence to process your text reflections, generate conversational responses, and surface patterns and insights from your sessions.

You are interacting with an AI system, not a human. Synecto is designed for personal reflection and growth and is not a substitute for professional mental health care.

This disclosure is made in accordance with EU AI Act Article 50 transparency obligations.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Synecto. By using the service you confirm you meet this requirement.

4. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us at hello@synecto.io if you suspect unauthorised access.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Synecto for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the service
• Use Synecto to harass, defame or harm others
• Share, resell, or sublicense the service
• Use the service to generate harmful, illegal, or prohibited content

6. Your content

The reflections you create remain yours. You grant us a limited licence to process them solely to operate Synecto for you (e.g. extracting insights, displaying your profile). We do not use your content for any other purpose.

7. AI-generated content

AI responses, insights and habit suggestions are generated by language models. They may contain errors, omissions or interpretations that don't accurately reflect you. Use your own judgement; nothing the AI produces should be treated as professional advice.

8. Subscriptions and billing

Synecto offers free and paid tiers. Paid subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled. You can cancel anytime from in-app settings. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — write to hello@synecto.io.

9. Termination

You can delete your account anytime from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where reasonable.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Synect Limited (CRO: 814346) is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Synecto. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes shall be resolved in the Irish courts.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be notified via email. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
